Musical Theatre

2pm - 5pm on Saturdays

Musical Theatre classes for 6 - 17 (3 hour session), an hour of dance, an hour of drama and an hour of singing. Students are split into groups according to age and experience. They work on pieces from Musical Theatre shows,  (shows previously studied and performed include, Annie, Oliver, Grease, Hairspray, Bugsy Malone, and many many more) films & plays.

Dance: Following a warm up students are taught dance technique and then learn a routine for the end of term performance - the style of dance varies depending on the chosen theme for the term. Styles covered are modern & commercial jazz, street dance and contemporary.

Drama: Improvisation, drama games, script-work, characterization & stage-fighting (older students) are all covered. We often write our own scripts which are geared around our students.

Singing: Students explore different types of song; learn how to sing together in a group, older students cover breath control & harmonies. One or two songs are learned to be performed in the show at the end of  term.
